A Day in the Life of a Tiny Tot
Tiny Tots offers morning and afternoon classes for children ages three to five. Students that are three  years old will attend class on Tuesdays and Thursdays OR Mondays and Wednesdays. Students that are four or five years old will attend class on Monday through Thursday. This class will prepare four and five year olds for kindergarten.
Each day will begin with free play. Next is story time, where a book or story will introduce the topics for the day's activities. The children will divide into groups and work on projects. The projects will consist of one art project and another project that will help to develop essential skills (counting, letter recognition, cutting, etc.) Students will also have an opportunity for free play indoors. Free play includes building with blocks, dramatic play, and of course, play dough. After clean-up, another circle time will reiterate the concepts taught and reinforced through the projects. Songs, dancing and calendar take place during this session. Children will opportunities to play outside throughout the day.
Mr. Ken Cooper is our music teacher for the older classes. Mr. Cooper's music program is used in many other preschools as well as kindergartens in the area. Students will enjoy 30 minutes of learning through song. Mr. Cooper's website is www.mistercooper.com.
Throughout the year there are a few field trips that the classes will be going on. Places to be visited include the pumpkin patch, the zoo, and Fairy Tale Town.
